50th ANNIVERSARY: GILBERT & SUE ORR

Gilbert and Sue Orr will celebrate their golden anniversary on September 3rd. They celebrated in July with their family on an Alaskan cruise and a trip to Denali State Park. The former Sue Moore and Gilbert Orr were married September 3, 1963, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Monroe, Michigan, by Pastor James MacDonald. The couple has two sons: Douglas (Jen) Orr of Isanti, Minnesota, and Gregory Orr of Cincinnati, Ohio. They also have two grandchildren: Shelby and Logan of Isanti, Minnesota. Gilbert is a retired elementary guidance counselor from Mansfield City Schools and is currently working in Shelby, Crestline, and Galion. Sue is retired from Clear Fork Schools and is currently a substitute teacher.

Steve and Karen Donnenwirth of Shelby will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on September 8, 2013, with a formal dinner at the Skyway East in Mansfield, Ohio. The former Karen Miller and Steve Donnenwirth were married at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mansfield on September 8, 1973, by the Rev. Monsignor Dunn. They have one daughter, Heather (Brent) Armstrong of Shelby, Ohio, and two grandsons, Brennan and Camden. Steve and Karen owned and operated Donelco Inc. Electrical Contractors for 11 years. Steve is retired from Citizens Bank. Karen is presently employed at the Waterford of Mansfield Capital Senior Living, Inc. as a Supervisor.

Adrian and Carol Buchholz celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 30, 2013, with their family. The former Carol Keener and Adrian Buchholz were married August 30, 1963, at Park Street Brethren Church in Ashland, Ohio, by Rev. Phil Lersch. The couple has two children: June Popa of Butler, Ohio; and John (Sermin) Buchholz of Chesterville, Ohio. They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Carol and Adrian Buchholz are both retired from Madison Local Schools.

60th ANNIVERSARY: BOB & ROBERTA COLE

Bob and Roberta Cole celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary September 7th with a surprise party at the home of their eldest son to celebrate their 60 precious years together. Guests included several of Bob's siblings from the local area and their spouses, as well as their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A wonderful time was had by all in attendance. The former Roberta Bailey and Bob Cole were married September 4, 1953, at the home of Rev. and Mrs. James Dawes in Carrothers, Ohio, by the Rev. James Dawes. The couple's four children are: Connie (Bob) McKenzie of Bellville, Ohio; Greg (Susie) Cole of Mansfield, Ohio; Barry [deceased] (Connie) Cole of Mansfield, Ohio; and Jeff (Laura) Cole of Bellville, Ohio. They also have 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Roberta dedicated her life to being the best wife and mother possible. She is 'famous' for her chocolate chip cookies which are still considered "the best" and loved now by all her grandchildren, as they were by her children years ago. Roberta is a retired homemaker. Bob retired from GM after 34.7 years. He has spent his retirement years doing odd jobs helping out family and friends and has become an accomplished wood carver with over 400 carvings to date. Bob and Roberta have had an exceptional life together and are a wonderful example to all who witness their love and devotion to one another - a beautiful picture of what marriage should be.

The groom-elect's parents are Ken and Marilyn Young of Mansfield, Ohio. The couple plan to marry August 16, 2014, in Mansfield, Ohio. Alyson Pirc is a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, class of 2005, North Central State College, class of 2009, with an Associate Degree of Applied Science, and Ashland University, class of 2011, with a Bachelor Degree of Science (Criminal Justice). She is employed by the Richland County Prosecutor's Office as a secretary for the criminal division. Kevin Young is a graduate of Lexington High School, class of 1999. He has attended Columbus State Community College and is currently attending American Military University. He is currently employed by the United States Army as an Observer/Controller Trainer at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.

Gilead Church of Christ, 322 Iberia Street, Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Your presence is gift enough. The former Maxine Linn and Bill Hershner were married September 19, 1953, at the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, by William F. Bush. The couple's children are Dan (Cindy) Hershner of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Mark [deceased] (Janet) Hershner of Martinsburg, Ohio. They also have seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Maxine is a retired Township Clerk. Bill retired from his work as a Township Clerk and Trustee, and from farming.

The former Kathy Osborne and Mike Duffey were married October 28, 1978, at Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor Robert S. Kinsey. The couple has two children: Steve (Jessica) Duffey of Mansfield, Ohio; and Rachael (Mark) Ward of Mansfield, Ohio. They also have two grandchildren. Kathy is currently employed by the State of Ohio. Mike is retired from Pentair Pump (F.E. Meyers).

They also have three great-grandchildren.

The wedding of Amber Marie Patrick and Erick Matthew Slone took place November 9, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. at the Ontario Event Center in Ohio. Reverend Paul Tracey officiated for the service. Given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of Andrew and Judy Patrick of Mansfield. Parents of the groom are Matt Slone and Becky Baumberger of Mansfield. Around her bouquet, Amber held a special decorative handkerchief that belonged to her great-great-threat grandmother, Sarah Benton. Ashley Patrick was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Kaylee Ream and Haley Marquis. Morgan Weaver was flower girl. Derrick Slone was best man. Groomsmen included Keith Allen and Robby Kuhn. Dylan Weaver was ring bearer. Both Amber and Erick graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 2013. Erick is a combat engineer in the U.S. Army. Amber will be attending college for physical therapy.

Darlene and Clarence "Bud" Windsor were married December 7, 1963, at the Mansfield Baptist Temple in Mansfield, Ohio, by Rev. Tommy Leatherwood. The couple's five children are: Lori Wright of Columbus, Ohio; Annette Windsor of Mansfield, Ohio; Darla Estep of Mansfield, Ohio; Bud (Mary) Windsor of Mansfield, Ohio; and Denise Thompson (deceased in 2003). They also have 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bud is a retired employee of General Motors. Darlene is a retired medical assistant and coroner's assistant for Dr. Barbara Reed, M.D. To celebrate their anniversary, the couple will be taking a Caribbean Cruise on the "Oasis of the Sea." Smucker Company in Orville, Ohio, and is currently working in Livermore, California. The wedding ceremony will be held at the Lexington United Methodist Church of the Cross on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The couple will be residing in Dublin, California.

George and Marlene Fesler of Lexington, formerly of Amherst, Ohio, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family dinners hosted by their sons at Skyway East and Carrabba's restaurants. The former Marlene Bacacio and George Fesler were married on November 16, 1963, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lorain, Ohio, by Father Vincent O'Dea. The couple has two sons: Thomas (Jill) Fesler of Mansfield, and Anthony Fesler of Lexington. They also have two grandchildren: Emma and Carter Fesler of Mansfield. Marlene retired after 25½ years with RGIS. George retired from General Motors Corporation after 40 years of service. George and Marlene are members of Resurrection Parish in Lexington. They enjoy spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren, whom they adore. They also enjoy fishing, Cedar Point, crossword puzzles, and occasionally going to the casino.

The former Irene Fosdyke and Earl Beal were married December 24, 1943 at Owl Creek Church of the Brethren in Ankenyton, Ohio, by Rev. W.H. Miley. The couple has two children: Norman (Kathy) Beal of Bellville, Ohio; and Stephen (Sue) Beal, also of Belleville, Ohio. They also have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Irene retired from Garber Insurance Agency in 1990 after 20 years of service. Earl retired from Westinghouse in 1987 after working there 46 years.

The bridesmaids were: Elizabeth Sutter, sister of the bride; Jennah Nelson, Lauren Kilian, and Megan Miller - friends of the bride; Sam Holland and Sarah Holland - cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Claire Damron, niece of the groom. The best man was Chip Bailey, friend of the groom. The Groomsmen were: Curt Damron and Lee Damron - brothers of the groom; Eddie Hertsenberg and Kyle Stelzer - friends of the groom; and Gunnar Sutter, brother of the bride. A reception for 250 guests was held at the Eastbrook Center in Mansfield, Ohio. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica. Erica is a graduate of Madison Comprehensive High School. She is employed with Nexco Solutions in Dublin, Ohio. Blake is a graduate of Big Walnut High School. He is employed with Omnicare Inc. in Dublin, Ohio. The couple resides in Dublin, Ohio.

The couple has two children: Sharon Easterday of Underhill, Vermont, and Larry (Barb) Easterday of Bluffton, Ohio. They have a grandson, Jeff (Jennifer) Easterday, and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Easterday. Milt is retired from Copperweld Steel Company in Shelby, Ohio.
